 | Book Release: The Divine Principles of Mothering
Welcome to a website dedicated to mothering. Though the subjective feelings, challenges and joys mothers experience are important and worthy of discussion, this forum is more about mothering than it is about mothers. The overall goal is to help mothers interact with and influence the lives of their children in a positive way. Through that lens we can better envision a mother doing what is right for her children because she puts their welfare and happiness above her own. Is such other-centeredness even possible in today’s world where self-focus seems more the norm? Further, is it even necessary or desirable?
After a lifetime of study and mothering I am certain it is a goal worth striving for if we want strong, effective, loving families. In order to make this viewpoint part of the discourse on mothering I wrote the book The Divine Principles of Mothering. In it we look, not at methodologies, but at the core principles of mothering, and how to make those the center stakes of family life. We may never achieve the ideal in this world, but being able to envision the ideal makes it easier to model--and good mothering can become great mothering.
